Action taken by South African Government and Regulators

The South African government worked resolutely to address the deficiencies identfied by the FATF in the MER report. As part of the efforts President Ramaphosa signed the General Laws Amendment Act and the Protection of Consitutional Democary against Terrorist and Related Activities Act in December 2022. The General Laws Amendment Act amended six laws that addresses key recommendations by the FATF.
