Qhawekazi Myendeki
Finalist: SAICA Trainee Trailblazer Awards 2025
Qhawekazi Myendeki is a first-year CA(SA) trainee whose leadership is rooted in mentorship, education, and digital influence.
Through her growing online presence, Qhawekazi has become a digital mentor to aspiring Chartered Accountants across South Africa. On platforms like TikTok, she shares motivational and educational content that demystifies the CA(SA) journey. Her videos offer practical study strategies, productivity tips, and personal reflections, helping students stay committed and confident.
Her impact is measurable. Students have reached out to share how her content helped them improve their marks — one reported a 26% improvement in tax results after applying her study tips. These stories highlight the power of relatable guidance and the importance of representation in the profession.
Beyond social media, Qhawekazi mentors students through the KPMG mentorship programme in partnership with Durban University of Technology. She provides support on academic and career challenges, helping students prepare for the professional world with clarity and confidence. Her approach is grounded in authenticity, making her a relatable and approachable mentor.
She also tutors with Fun Learning for Youth (FLY), a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering learners from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through this programme, she offers academic support and mentorship to high school students, helping them build the foundation needed to pursue careers in finance and accounting. Her work contributes meaningfully to transformation in the profession by nurturing future CAs(SA) from diverse communities.
What ties all of Qhawekazi’s initiatives together is her belief in the power of education, mentorship, and representation. She understands that the CA(SA) journey can be overwhelming and isolating, especially for students from underrepresented backgrounds. By sharing her own struggles and strategies, she creates a sense of belonging and encouragement for others walking the same path.
Her vision is to continue leveraging both traditional mentorship programmes and digital platforms to broaden access to knowledge, motivation, and support. As she grows in her career, she aims to expand her impact — ensuring that more students are equipped with the tools, mindset, and confidence to reach their goals and contribute meaningfully to the profession.
Qhawekazi Myendeki exemplifies the spirit of a SAICA Brand Ambassador. She champions the CA(SA) designation with pride and purpose, using her voice and creativity to inspire the next generation and build a more inclusive, empowered pipeline for the profession.
