IAC January 2026

Assessment Dates

27 to 29 January 2026

Exam times09:00 – 13:00
The IAC will be written from 9:00 – 13:00 (See section 4 of the IAC Regulations) on each of the assessment dates

Current ITC

IAC January 2026

Four papers written over two consecutive days

Three papers written over three consecutive days (Tuesday to Thursday).

Each paper is currently 100 marks (total 400 marks)

Each paper will be increased to 120 marks (total 360 marks) and will comprise only ONE scenario (they will be split into parts for marking purposes)

Each paper comprises a half-hour of reading time (without the required) plus 2 and a half hours of writing time (3 hours in total)

Each paper will be four hours long; and the required reading is to be provided with the scenario and writing time commences immediately.

Concession for IAC 2026
  • Application Submission Deadline: 03 October 2025
  • All prospective candidates for both sittings 2026 should apply except those who received PGDA concessions for 2025 (those will transfer to IAC 2026)

  • Deadline 04 October 2025
  • Whatever concession is granted by SAICA will be applicable for your IAC 2026
Concession for IAC 2026 - 2nd Sitting New conditions only: 01 May 2026
  • Only for new conditions diagnosed after 10 January 2026

Normal Online Registration Dates

Candidates who do not register during this period will be charged a penalty fee of up to 100%.

What if I am still waiting for my CTA Results to be released?You are encouraged to register even if your PGDA results are pending. If you are unsuccessful, your registration will be cancelled at no cost.

London venue candidates & International Venues

  • SAICA reserves the right to cancel this venue if the number of registered candidates is insufficient.
  • An additional registration fee will be charged and shared among candidates writing in London if the usage of the venue goes ahead with insufficient number of candidates.
  • Notification of the fee will be sent on 12 December 2025.
  • The IAC exam is offered only in South Africa and London. Candidates must register and present themselves at these venues

Payment and invoices

  • Candidates can view and download their invoice directly from their profile on the SAICA Member Portal.
  • Payment of all invoices must reach SAICA by 15 January 2026.
  • In terms of SAICA's examination policy, invoices are issued to each candidate.
  • If the invoice should be made out to the candidate's employer, the candidate must request it before 13 December 2025.

Confirmations

After completion and submission of an on-line registration (application)

By e-mail

  • A computer-generated confirmation that confirms receipt of your registration by SAICA will be emailed. (This does not confirm eligibility to write IAC January 2026)
  • If not received within 24 hours, phone the SAICA contact center – non-receipt could mean that your registration was unsuccessful.
  • Check your details – especially the venue you selected – on this confirmation email for correctness.
  • All queries must be logged via the SAICA Members Portal at https://my.saica.co.za
  • All other changes can be made, by you, on your SAICA profile.

Admission Letter

By e-mail

  • Confirms that SAICA has received your payment and verified your eligibility
  • This confirms your eligibility to write the exam
  • This letter contains your exam number

SMS

  • Informs you that an admission letter has been e-mailed to you
  • Ensure that you provide your correct cell number on your SAICA profile

Venue Change

Must be requested before 05 January 2026, requests after this date will not be accepted

Entrance (eligibility) requirements

Valid PGDA or equivalent

A candidate must have successfully completed a PGDA or equivalent programme endorsed

PGDA obtained in June 2023

January 2026 will be the last sitting for a PGDA obtained in June 2023. A PGDA only valid for a period of three (3) consecutive years (starting the year after the PGDA academic year in which the curriculum was assessed).

  • NO writing / notes, etc., is allowed in the SAICA handbooks which may be brought into the examination
