Kamir Arjun CA(SA), 28
Finalist: Wellness Advocate | SAICA Top-35-Under-35 Awards 2025
Kamir Arjun is redefining what it means to live well — not just through physical fitness, but through mental resilience, discipline, and purpose. At 28, he is a Chartered Accountant (SA) working in Ireland, and a globally competitive ultra-endurance athlete whose story inspires South Africans to dream big, push limits, and embrace wellness as a way of life.
Kamir’s journey into wellness began not with triumph, but with fear. At age 21, he couldn’t swim — a vulnerability he refused to accept. He taught himself to swim through countless solo sessions, eventually qualifying as a pool and ocean lifeguard. Within months, he entered his first triathlon, finishing last but igniting a fire that would transform his life.
From that humble start, Kamir went on to swim 4km daily, complete a 10km open water swim, and join the Maties Swimming Squad under South Africa’s Olympic Open Water Coach, Cedric Finch. He raced at the South African Championships for Olympic Distance Triathlon and placed 9th in the Dutch Triathlon Series in Haarlem. His relentless endurance became his superpower — and a force for good.
Kamir has since used sport to uplift others. He swam 13.6km for PinkDrive, raising funds for breast cancer screening for vulnerable women. He ran and cycled over 1,000km to support literacy initiatives, and cycled across a country in 32 hours to demonstrate the strength of human will. These feats are not just athletic milestones — they are acts of service, designed to inspire and empower.
Despite training up to 3–4 hours a day, Kamir balances his athletic pursuits with a demanding professional career as a CA(SA). His message is clear: wellness is not a luxury — it’s a necessity. He believes that a fit body leads to sharper thinking, better emotional health, and stronger performance in all areas of life.
Kamir’s impact is deeply personal. Dozens of South Africans have reached out to thank him for helping them eat healthier, exercise more, and improve their quality of life. His approach is simple, authentic, and accessible — cutting through misinformation and social media noise to offer practical, sustainable wellness strategies.
He lives his philosophy: “The only things you need to succeed in life are a healthy body, a calm mind, and a relentless work ethic.” Kamir embodies this every day, showing others that wellness is not just about fitness — it’s about courage, consistency, and living with intention.
As a Wellness Advocate, Kamir Arjun is more than an athlete — he’s a movement. His story is proof that transformation begins with a single decision, and that wellness, when pursued with heart and discipline, can unlock the full potential of the human spirit.
