Banking Professional – Ireland | SAICA Irish Society Member | Writer & Poet

Finalist: SAICA Brand Ambassador | SAICA Top-35-Under-35 Awards 2025

Mishka Hajee is a Chartered Accountant, writer, and global ambassador for the profession whose work spans finance, mentorship, community outreach, and the arts. At 32, she represents SAICA on the international stage, blending technical excellence with cultural insight and community impact.

Based in Dublin, Mishka serves on the SAICA Irish Society as Communications Lead, where she drives member engagement, event coordination, and strategic communication across Ireland and the broader EMEA region. She spearheads initiatives like “Know Your Colleague”, spotlighting SAICA members abroad and strengthening the global SAICA community. Her work has significantly grown the Society’s online presence and visibility.

Mishka is also a mentor in SAICA’s mentorship programme, offering guidance to aspiring professionals and using her own journey to inspire others. Her commitment to mentorship extends to the EPIC Programme run by Business in the Community Ireland, where she helps asylum seekers and refugees navigate employment opportunities — a reflection of her belief in inclusive empowerment.

Her global advocacy is amplified through her involvement with Chartered Accountants Worldwide (CAW). As a One Young World ambassador, she participated in CAW’s media campaign at the 2023 Summit in Belfast, showcasing the profession’s relevance and reach. In 2024, she joined CAW’s inaugural Global Future Leaders Think Tank in Dublin, collaborating with international peers to brainstorm strategies for promoting chartered accountancy to future generations. She also featured in CAW’s Global Connectedness Campaign, celebrating the mobility and versatility of the CA(SA) designation.

Beyond finance, Mishka is a passionate advocate for sustainability and social inclusion. She serves as Head of Sustainability for Muslim Sisters of Eire, a registered Irish charity supporting women, immigrants, and marginalised groups. Her work includes strategic planning, community outreach, and promoting diversity and inclusion.

Mishka’s voice also resonates through the written word. She is a published poet, with work featured in South African and Irish publications including Poetry Potion, BIA! Zine, and her self-published collection Songs of Eela (2020). Her poetry explores identity, heritage, and resilience, offering a deeply personal lens on the world around her. She placed third in the Poetry Africa Competition 2024, and was previously a finalist in SAICA’s Student Leadership Summit (2013) and the Business Women’s Association of South Africa’s writing competition (2011).

Her story is one of multidimensional impact — from boardrooms to classrooms, from community kitchens to literary platforms. Mishka embodies the spirit of a SAICA Brand Ambassador, showing that the CA(SA) designation is not just a credential, but a catalyst for global influence, creative expression, and social change.

Whether mentoring refugees, promoting social inclusion, or writing poetry that moves hearts, Mishka Hajee leads with integrity, empathy, and imagination. She is a difference-maker in every sense — proving that the future of the profession is not only technical, but human.
