Modise Moloto CA(SA), 32
Finalist: Transformative Leader | SAICA Top-35-Under-35 Awards 2025
Modise Moloto is a Chartered Accountant whose leadership is transforming South Africa’s digital economy through strategic finance, commercial innovation, and enterprise performance. At 32, he serves as Acting CFO of BCX, one of the country’s largest ICT integrators, where he oversees multi-billion-rand operations and drives financial transformation at scale.
Modise’s career is defined by his ability to align strategy with execution. At BCX, he has led the company’s shift to an Everything-as-a-Service (XaaS) model, embedded pricing and profitability disciplines, and delivered large-scale cost optimisation — achieving R1 billion in savings across a R10 billion revenue segment. He has spearheaded M&A transactions, including the landmark DotCom acquisition, and secured BCX’s exclusive partnership with Alibaba Cloud, positioning the company as a leader in Africa’s cloud ecosystem.
His leadership spans finance, commercial operations, project delivery, and sales enablement. As Managing Executive: Commercial Performance, he redefined product lifecycle management, improved sales conversion, and introduced investment governance frameworks that enabled informed executive decision-making. His work has consistently improved margins, accelerated revenue growth, and strengthened operational resilience.
Before joining BCX, Modise held pan-African leadership roles at Abbott Laboratories, managing a R750 million regional P&L. He implemented commercial excellence programmes that improved gross margins from 25% to 45%, transitioned to a direct delivery model that halved logistics costs, and launched strategic initiatives that grew market share and profitability. His achievements earned him the EMEA Presidential Award in 2022 — Abbott’s highest regional honour.
Modise’s impact is not limited to financial metrics. He is passionate about building high-performing teams, embedding cultures of accountability and innovation, and using data-led insights to drive strategic outcomes. He has led and mentored diverse teams across multiple organisations, cultivating excellence and continuous improvement.
He holds an MBA from Henley Business School, a BCom Honours in Chartered Accountancy from the University of Johannesburg, and is a member of the Institute of Directors. He is also a SAICA Registered Chartered Accountant, with a strong foundation in audit, having trained and worked at PwC.
Modise’s leadership is grounded in purpose. He is committed to shaping Africa’s business landscape and mentoring the next generation of leaders. His work bridges finance, technology, and strategy — proving that transformation is not just about systems, but about people, vision, and impact.
Whether negotiating multi-million rand partnerships, driving digital transformation, or mentoring emerging talent, Modise Moloto leads with clarity, courage, and commercial insight. He is a Transformative Leader in every sense — building a future where finance fuels innovation, and leadership drives lasting change.
