Zah’ra Moosa CA(SA), 35
Finalist: Wellness Advocate | SAICA Top-35-Under-35 Awards 2025
Zah’ra Moosa is a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) whose journey from corporate finance to mental health entrepreneurship is a powerful story of resilience, reinvention, and purpose. As the CEO and co-founder of AYZA Health, a pioneering mental health clinic in Sandton, Zah’ra is redefining what it means to lead—with empathy, strategy, and lived experience at the core.
From Deloitte and Citi to entrepreneurial ventures, Zah’ra’s career seemed perfectly on track. Yet behind the success, she was unraveling — caught in a cycle of depression that years of therapy and medication couldn’t seem to mend. By 2022, she felt she had lost everything that once defined her.. What followed was a courageous and deeply personal journey of healing that would ultimately shape her life’s mission
In 2023, Zah’ra underwent a breakthrough treatment that proved transformative. It helped her rebuild cognitive and emotional resilience, opening a path back to health. During her recovery in 2024, she co-founded AYZA Health with her family— born not from ambition, but from compassion and a deeply personal commitment to help others facing similar struggles. While still on medical leave, she contributed to awareness campaigns, digital content, and the clinic’s foundational strategy.
By June 2025, Zah’ra had regained her strength and was formally appointed CEO of AYZA Health. In this role, she blends her financial acumen with a deep understanding of mental health, leading the clinic’s governance, growth, and patient-centred innovation. Today, the same therapy that restored her wellbeing continues to empower others—reflected in the heartfelt testimonials and steady recovery journeys of AYZA Health’s patients. Under her leadership, AYZA Health has supported over 200 patients, achieved over 60% growth in 2025, and maintained a consistent five-star rating on Google for care.
Zah’ra’s impact goes beyond numbers. She has co-designed integration workbooks to support patients post-treatment, introduced trauma-focused counselling, and built systems to streamline access to care. She has also led the development of a doctor referral network, hosted public webinars, and supports research into Keta-Therapy for underserved communities. AYZA Health’s commitment to accessibility includes offering monthly pro-bono treatments for those in need.
Internally, Zah’ra has fostered a culture of wellness and empathy. Every team member at AYZA Health experiences Keta-Therapy themselves, ensuring they can support patients from a place of understanding and compassion. This approach has created a workplace where staff well-being is prioritised, and patient care is deeply human.
Zah’ra’s story is one of full-circle transformation. From losing her career to mental illness, to returning as a leader who champions healing and hope, she embodies the essence of a Wellness Advocate. Her journey is a testament to the power of vulnerability, the importance of mental health, and the incredible potential that lies in second chances.
