How to become an Associate General Accountant AGA(SA)

Becoming an Associate General Accountant (AGA(SA)) is your pathway to a challenging and exciting career.

SAICA is a service-driven not-for-profit organisation that has positioned itself as a leading accountancy body in South Africa, and has established itself as one of the leading professional accounting bodies in the world.

If you hold a SAICA *accredited degree (AGA or CA) and have been discharged from a SAICA training contract, you are eligible to register with SAICA as an AGA(SA). You may visit our Member Portal to submit an application to become an AGA(SA).

Minimum supporting documentation required (i.e. you should have these documents ready when submitting an application) to for us to successfully review an application:

• Copy of your RSA ID or a Passport
• Copy of accredited degree
• Copy of SAICA training contract discharge

SAICA has provided an alternative route to individuals to register as an AGAs(SA) through recognition of prior learning (work place gained experience).
