National Public Sector Committee
The National Public Sector Committee (NPSC) was established by the SAICA Board and is the official Prescribed Committee for public sector matters with a potential impact on SAICA members, the profession and the public interest.
The responsibilities of the NPSC include the following, amongst others:
- Create value for the public sector constituency of SAICA’s membership by identifying challenges they are facing and proposing guidance to solving these challenges.
- Advocate, influence and contribute to the setting, development and implementation of standards and guidance, including the professionalisation of the public sector.
- Issue public sector related guidance that supports members and references back to the applicable standards, laws and regulations.
- Contribute thought leadership material within the public sector through articles.
The NPSC represents the below constituencies within the public sector:
- Departments
- Parliament/Legislatures
- Public entities
- Constitutional Institutions
- Local government
- Firms
- Academia
- Other public sector institutions not listed above (eg, higher education)
