I am Chartered Accountant with 14 years working experience in both the public and private sector. I have six years’ management experience in financial management, accounting and supply chain management. I am a results-driven individual with strong analytical skills and an assertive character. I have many years operating as a team leader who values team efforts and importance of keeping team motivated. I lead by example with an ability to find innovative means of performing tasks a characteristic that is evidenced by my strong entrepreneurial spirit

I am currently employed in the role of Chief Financial Officer of the Johannesburg Tourism Company and prior to that was the Director: Group Accounting within the City of Johannesburg Municipality Group Accounting Unit a role that required that I ensure that a proper control system is implemented throughout the City to safeguard and maintain assets. Prior to my current role I was employed as an Audit Manager at the South African Revenue Service (SARS) and the Auditor General. In my roles within the Auditor General I was required to assess the controls around asset management by performing audit procedures which included but were not limited to asset verification, assessing the adequacy of the asset register, recalculation of asset related figures (e.g. depreciation; carrying value; revaluations; impairment) in the financial statements. I have also currently serving as mentor on the ABASA UJ Mentorship programme and UNISA eTutor for the third year Audit module. I am also currently serving as an Audit Committee member of the South African Human Rights Commission and until recently was also a Council member and audit committee member at the Vaal University of Technology.

My previous work experience coupled with my studies has provided me with the competencies in the fields of auditing, financial management, enterprise and supplier development, regulatory and compliance audits, preparation of accounting information and compliance risk management.

I enjoy working under pressure, challenging myself and have the ability to operate in an ever-changing environment, skills I have developed and honed in my time as the Director of a financial services firm and auditor.
