Ukuzithanda&Co has been founded by a self-taught nail technician and makeup artist to help women and young people acquire a marketable skill; in this way, equipping them to become economically empowered.

The project focuses on the beauty industry, as skills in this area easily monetised: little start-up capital is required as the practitioner can offer small-scale services from their home base, expanding as their skills and client network develop.

Ukuzithanda&Co distinguishes itself from competitors through its strong focus on developing entrepreneurial knowhow: its primary goal is to create an accessible pathway to acquiring a skill through a platform that does not exclude people for whom the cost of formal training or access to digital training is an obstacle.
