Lwazi Bam

Currently the Chairman of Zeda and a non-executive director of the Standard Bank Group, Valterra Platinum Limited and Woolworths Holdings Limited.

Lwazi was previously the CEO of Deloitte Africa from 1 June 2012 until 31 May 2022, a member of the Deloitte Global Network. Lwazi also served as a member of the Deloitte Global Executive Committee, and prior to this, served on the Deloitte Global Board.

During my 29+ years with Deloitte, Lwazi had the privilege of serving in a number of leadership roles, including being a member of the Deloitte Southern Africa Board of Partners and Directors, holding executive responsibility for the firm’s strategy and for the Corporate Finance (now Financial Advisory) business, as well as being the Head of M&A Advisory.

Lwazi have worked with clients across a number of industry sectors including transportation, financial services, fuel and fleet management, technology, media and services.

Lwazi is also a Past President of the Association for the Advancement of Accountants in Southern Africa (ABASA). I am a former Chairman of the South African Institute of Chartered Accounts (SAICA), as well as former Chairman of the African Children’s Feeding Scheme (ACFS).

Lwazi is a strong champion of the Africa story and was intimately involved in the execution of Deloitte’s strategy for Africa. Lwazi is a passionate believer in Purpose and in purpose-driven leadership.
