Muneer Hassan is the Deputy Head of Department Accountancy and Senior Lecturer Taxation at the University of Johannesburg. Muneer lectures Taxation to Honours/CTA students. Muneer is an alternate Employer Trustee on the UJ Pension Fund. He is a member on the Senate at UJ the Research Ethics Committee at UJ and he serves as a director of Accounting Education SA (Pty) Ltd trading as the Gauteng Board Course. He is also the deputy chairperson of the SAICA National Tax Committee and a member of the SAIT Examinations Committee.

Muneer has a PhD (Taxation), is a Chartered Accountant CA(SA), a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) and holds a Master’s in SA & International Tax. He served articles at PwC and previously held positions of tax technical advisor at SARS, and Senior Executive: tax legislation and practitioners at SAICA.
